One of the major players in online holiday home advertising cut the price of their holiday rentals advertising and will hopefully encourage other holiday rental listing sites to drop their prices also.
Direct Holiday Lets have been around now for a couple of years and have hundreds of holiday lets worldwide which are mostly advertised directly by the owners.
Being a holiday home owner myself, I signed up with Direct Holiday Lets some time ago and have found the site excellent to use. Adding properties is extremely easy and all together painless. The whole process took around 20 minutes which was the best I have experienced compared with some of the other sites.
Be good if some of the other rentals sites were to follow suit, but we will have to wait and see.

With the currently decline in demand for property in Spain I have been taking a look at one or two other options and been reading on up on the latest property “hotspots” that a lot of property investors are looking at to realise greater capital growth. Buying property in Cape Verde looks like a sound investment choice.
Cape Verde is an archipelago which lies just off the coast of West Africa and has many things going for it.
For a start the weather in Cape Verde averages between 23 -28 C all year round, meaning that it is a great place for a holiday rental of some sort. It also has endless stretches of beaches and seas that are warm all year round.
There is a downside to Cape Verde though if you are traveling from the UK. The flight times are around 8 hours and there is a required stop over in Portugal. So not as close as the costa del sol, but probably worth the effort if at least to find a relative empty beach!!
With the potential of good solid capital growth I think these are the kind of destinations that investors especially will be turning to this year and possible next.
